From a small group of 25 original members when our Aloha Chapter was founded on January 27, 2000, we have grown steadily to over 215 life, regular and auxiliary members by the end of 2007. These pioneers were presented with the first MOAA chapter charter of the 21st Century. | Aloha Chapter Board of Directors and Officers — 2010 |
The volunteer officers of our Aloha Chapter, MOAA, are reflective of the uniformed service categories they represent--Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, NOAA, USPHS--and their numbers in the chapter (e.g., there are three times more Army members in the chapter than the total of the three smallest categories) are proportionally represented by the three Army members on the Board of Directors. The Aloha Chapter Board of Directors, composed of not more than nine members, are elected by chapter members for two-year terms. The Board, in turn, appoints any class of Chapter members, except honorary, to serve as Officers for one year or longer. The chairs of standing and ad hoc committees are appointed by the chapter president.
